I attempted to start a blog a couple years ago and nothing really became of it... I tried again back in august and again I completely forgot about it. Hopefully, the third time is the charm! After moving here to Winter Haven, Florida I have had so much time on my hands so I'm hoping now I can keep this up! The year is coming to a close... last night I went to the movies and saw New Years Eve. The movie has half of hollywood in it- Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Zac Efron, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Robert Deniro... just to name a few. I really enjoyed Sofia Vergara's performance- her accent and witty words crack me up. Back to the movie- I thought it was good in the fact that it made me reflect on my past year and think about the year to come. For those of you who know me well know that I like to make lists. In the movie Zac Efron is helping Michelle Pfeiffer complete her lists of New Years resolutions and it made me think of my lists. What have I done this year that was on my list?? and what do I want to add to my list for next year.... unfortunately I'm also good at misplacing things.. like my lists.. I found my list from 2010.. and one of the things was move back to the east coast. I can check that off for 2011 since I moved here to Florida. One for my list for 2012 is to move to Chicago- why Chicago you ask. Well, I want to live in a city that has a lot to offer, but be closer to my family. I miss LA a lot. I miss my friends, the weather, the mountains, the nightlife, the shopping and restaurants, but I don't miss the traffic and smog :) Im really excited about Chicago though, excited about getting an apartment that I can fix up and call my own for longer than 3 months. Being a travel nurse is great but corporate housing sucks. The furniture is generic- the couch we have now has springs in it! I have never sat on a couch where u bounce back up! .... back to the list. I'm pretty for sure I wrote something about visiting more national parks. Well, I didn't quite make it to the places that I wanted to last year but I did visit some pretty amazing places including- India, Bhutan, Vegas, NYC, Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, Alaska, Hawaii... and a few other places. So far I have travelled to 44 states and next year a goal of mine is to complete the 50! I have South Carolina, Arkansas, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Montana left to visit. I was talking to my friend David the other day and we are thinking of taking a train trip from Chicago out west to Montana and then renting a car and hitting up yellowstone and glacier national parks. I really hope that it works out. As almost all of u know that I love to travel- travel always takes over my list- where I want to go and experiences I want to have (which usually means going somewhere lol) Looking back some great experiences I had this year include going on a hot air balloon in temecula, ca, riding a camel in India, meeting the king of Bhutan, seeing a moose in the alaskan wild and riding in a seaplane in alaska, snorkeling next to a sea turtle in hawaii, trying new and crazy foods like pig face and cow tongue at a top chef's restaurant in chicago, going for a joy ride in an "unconvential" taxi, riding a 4-wheeler in the california desert, winning money in vegas for once!, and many others.... I'm not sure what I want to experience in 2012.... I hope to spend more time with my family and friends (from the midwest that is). Have you thought about your list for 2012? oh another thing i can add to my list.. keep up with this blog! so far here is my list
